PL251: Homiletics

Todd Habegger
Tuesdays, 8:00pm Eastern
Start Date: March 15, 2022

Skeptical about the possibility that an online course can actually teach students to preach? With the wonders of technology (can you say “YouTube”?) students will view and critique each other’s sermons. Some eProfs claim that this is their favorite class to teach, and students admit this class challenged them to think outside the box to communicate biblical truth. Besides the fundamentals, students explore the practical aspects of preparing and delivering an expositional sermon; integrating unforgettable storytelling into the sermon; collecting, filing, and using illustrations effectively; and developing cultural sensitivity to today’s postmodern world.

PL211: Systematic Theology 1

Jim Carder, MA, PhD
Thursdays, 8:00pm Eastern
Start Date: March 10, 2022

What does the Bible say about the person of God, the historical Jesus, the existence of spiritual beings and phenomena, the creation story, the source and propagation of sin, and the purpose of man? Roll up your sleeves for Systematic Theology 1’s required theological digging designed to stir, challenge, and anchor every student. This course will also include special guest lectures from Missionary Church leaders!

PL311: Pastoral Caregiving

John Oelze, MDiv, MA
Mondays, 8:00pm Eastern
Start Date: March 7, 2022

Ministry will consume your life unless you learn to manage your time and set priorities. To effectively shepherd a flock you need a biblical understanding of how to care for and relate to others, continued growth in your own personal journey, commitment to raise up other care givers, and an ever-growing relationship with your spouse and children. This course teaches balance—caring for others without neglecting your own needs or that of your family.
